Wyoming (day 2)

As we learned from previous days, getting a late start on the day always ends up getting us to our destination a few hours behind schedule and a few hours less sleeping. So today, most of us woke up around 7:45 and were on the road around 8:00. From The Virginian Lodge RV park, we made a quick stop at the Jackson elk antler arch and then headed straight for Yellowstone National Park. We stopped in front to take a few pictures with the sign and with some pretty scenery and drove through the park, stopping at The Old Faithful Inn. We stopped and had lunch in the dining hall and got out just in time to see Old Faithful geyser erupt. The geyser was very 'faithful' as it was predicted to erupt at 12:05 and went off at 12:07. From the Old Faithful Inn we started our drive to Cody, WY. On our way out of Yellowstone, we some smaller geysers and spotted some pretty awesome animals, such as a moose, buffalo, and bob cat, and even a mountain goat. When we arrived in Cody, we visited the Cody Historical Center; a large museum filled with tons of exhibits from bears to forest life to 'Buffalo Bill' and all his colleagues. We then traveled into town, almost taking out a sign with our big RV, and settled in to watch a gun show performed by locals. From there we decided to get a bite to eat at a little restaurant which we thought would be hopping with people but turned out to be the only ones eating for the first 10 min before others joined us. After dinner we headed to the Cody Rodeo. Personally, I had a blast watching the barrel races, the bull and horse riding, and all the little rodeo clown jokes, but at a certain point it got a bit to cold to enjoy. Tonight we are continuing our driving to South Dakota, hopefully making it to Mount Rushmore by morning. During the day, we will be visiting Mount Rushmore and of course, more driving. Don't forget to follow us on the map. We update that hourly. Good night!
